Salvation Through Christ As the Treasure of the Believer

I’m simply lost in the greatness of the Lord Jesus Christ who is our hope to eternal life, the Son of God.

“Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;  1 Timothy 1:1”

As I was listening to the song entitled “Via Delarosa” (the song is all about the Lord Jesus Christ’s grief as He was bearing the cross to the road to Calvary), I felt the urge to write about Christ’s saving grace to me, His salvation that leads me to where I am now, to His sweet embrace with a hope of being with Him for eternity in heaven someday.

“ For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8”

“Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 2 Thessalonians 2:16”

Though I know for the fact that, I was such a wretch and an evil doer prior to my conversion, but still the Lord showered me generously with His grace that allowed me to worship Him in spirit and in truth through prayer and Bible reading, for without His grace, we can do no good, for we are naturally wicked who loved the carnality of this world where satan reigns, and for that, we are an enemy of God.

“That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;  Ephesians 4:22”

“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. James 4:4”

Yes, lusting to the carnal things which have no eternal value is considered as an enemy of the righteous God, for where your treasure is, there is your heart; you cannot serve both God and money.

Therefore, guard your eyes, as it is the shadow of the body, for if your eyes seek for the temporal things more than God, surely your body will be full of darkness, for your heart seek not for God and His righteousness, but rather a heart who’s not in tune with God will surely lust for the world where wickedness rule.

“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.  The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:21-24”

But thanks be to God, by His grace I can now see the incorruptible treasure of heaven, the treasure where no one can take away from me, the treasure of His promises to those who will believe, the treasure of salvation through Christ, the treasure of eternal life wherein we will be given the privilege to become the people of God to behold His beauty …..”GOD is simply my treasure” …and serving Him is my way of laying up treasures where a great promise of heavenly riches will be awarded to the faithful…serving Him is my expression of faithfulness and love to my Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

“But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: Matthew 6:20 ”

Now if truly God do reigned in your heart, then slowly He will conformed you to the image and likeness of His Son, though it will be a process of learning, renewing of mind, bearing the fruits of the Holy Spirit, and striving a good fight of faith for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. And a true renewed man will thirst for the Lord and will hate the sin that he once loved, for a man who is truly in Christ is content with the presence of His Master and King….for he knows that the Almighty God will fight for him in keeping the faith.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23”

“And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 4:23-24”

“Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Colossians 3:9-10”

“The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. Exodus 14:14”

But don’t be mistaken my friend, God will fight for those who truly believe in Him, for those who strive to walk in the path of righteousness, for those who worshiped Him in spirit and in truth. For God is angry to those who walked in darkness, to those who sinned without ceasing, as if sin is like an overflowing river of milk and honey.

“My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart. God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. Psalm 7:10-11”

Therefore, as a Christian, as a true believer of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is our prayer to be conformed to the image and likeness of His Son, an “obedient child of the Most High God of heaven”, for faith produces obedience to the word of God.

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:22”

“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 1 John 2:3”

So if you truly loved the Lord Jesus Christ, have a new relationship with Him by living a life that is Biblically based, a life that can enticed other people to believe to the risen Christ, a life that hates sin, a life that is full of compassion to His bretheren…for our life is a living sacrifice to the Lord, it is our testimony to other people.  Hence I encourage you dear readers, let your life shine for the glory of the Lord,  be a light and salt of the world, be a living testimony of the risen Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, for the Lord  died for us on that tree, hence let us not forget that we are just  sinners saved by grace. Stop sinning now and repent….put your faith in Christ…

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Let me end this blog by reminding you this verse, the heart of the gospel:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16”

Salvation is of the Lord (Jonah 2:9)
